A yoga demonstration will be held at the Telugu Kala Samithi, Adliya, on Friday to mark the 89th birthday of world-renowned yoga teacher Dr B K S Iyengar. Mr Ramulu has taught more than 9,000 students in more than 20 years in Bahrain and India. He is currently teaching at the Kerala Catholic Association, Segaiya, and the Telugu Kala Samithi, Adliya. Born on December 14, 1918, in India, Mr Iyengar is the founder of Iyengar Yoga. He is considered one of the foremost yoga teachers in the world and has been practising and teaching yoga for more than 60 years. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1991 and the Padma Bhushan in 2002, which are two of the most prestigious awards given to an Indian citizen. More Birthday News
