Birthday E-cards

It seems that within my family the months of September and October are filled with anniversaries and birthdays. In the past I would spend the time and money to purchase gifts and cards for everyone. I would then wait to give the gifts until I saw the person next. This meant that I would also call them on their special day. I have found that a much simpler solution is to send a Birthday E-cards and anniversary card.

When I first heard about e-cards I thought that this was an impersonal and cold concept and I did not want any part of it. I did not look at any of the sites that I had heard my co workers talk about. I thought that computers were taking over all the niceties in our society and now they were going to replace the greeting card with the Birthday E-cards. My mind was changed however when I received my first Birthday E-cards.

My husband and I had entertained friends over a holiday weekend. We had a great deal of fun, but the weather did not cooperate so it was also a great deal of extra work because we ended up cooking and eating in the house instead of grilling and eating outside. At the end of the weekend we finished doing the laundry and remaking the beds with clean sheets and cleaning the bathrooms and washing the towels. While my husband was taking a shower I decided to check our emails. Among the emails was an e-card from our friends. It was a very funny singing card to thank us for the weekend. After viewing the card I started looking at the Birthday E-cards selection as well as the other cards that were available. I was amazed at the wide variety of cards. There are cards available for every occasion and many cards to send in the just because category. The cards range from sentimental to funny. The best part is that the message inside the card is personalized by the sender. So often I find a great card, but the inside sentiment is not right.

I now send a Birthday E-cards to friends and family members on the day of the birthday. The easy part of this is that I can sit down and send several of the cards at one time and arrange to have them sent on a different day. You can also be contacted when the person reads the birthday e-card.  I no longer feel that the e-card service takes away from good manners and a personal touch.
