“1st Birthday Invitations”

1st Birthday Invitations ideas for baby’s 1st birthday. How to make your child’s 1st birthday invitations special and unique. A child’s first birthday party is a special time, but not just for the child. In reality, parents send out first birthday party invitations because they want other people to come and share in their joy. The first time I received a 1st birthday invitation, I thought it was kind of a silly gesture to be honest. The thing is, 1st birthday invitations seemed so unnecessary. After all, the baby was just barely learning her first words. She kind of seemed to know that something special was going on, and of course she loved having all the attention, but attention was nothing new to her being a baby. So why go through all the effort of having nice fancy 1st birthday invitation, anyway?

Now that I have kids of my own, I understand the 1st birthday invitation
better. Human life is so fragile, and none more fragile than the life of a new baby. The first birthday party is somewhat of a milestone in any child’s life. Most cases of infant mortality, after all, happen within the first year nowadays, so by sending out a 1st birthday party invitation, the parents are not only celebrating the child’s first birthday, but also the very fact that he or she has made it that far.

Of course, one of the toughest things about getting a 1st birthday invitation is figuring out exactly what to get. If you are new to these things, it can be tricky to say the least. Do you get clothes for the kid, even knowing that he or she will outgrow them within several months, and that the parents may not like them anyway? Do you get toys? Games? A mobile for the crib, perhaps? I thought they could have at least given some kind of hints on the 1st birthday invitation, but there was no clue at all what the parents would appreciate as a present for the kid. And I can not exactly ask the baby, now can I?

Well, I finally settled on getting him an electronic toy. It makes music whenever you hit it, which I think a lot of kids like. If the parents did not think that it was a good first birthday party present, they sure did not say anything. They seem to appreciate it, and anyway the decorations were great as was the cake. I don’t know why getting that 1st birthday invitation set me off, but it seems like I got all worked up over nothing.

The best way to find good 1st birthday invitations is keep things simple. Go with soft baby new born colors such as pink, blue, or yellow.  You can match your decorations and create a theme with the colors as well. Or just go with something that you know your baby likes such as teddy bears or their favorite stuffed animal or toy.

50th Birthday Gifts

“50th Birthday Gifts”

50th birthday gifts and ideas to give someone turning 50. There are many 50th birthday gifts that you can give someone turning the big 5-0.  We all remember the joys of getting presents as a child.  Who could forget the brightly painted wrapping paper flying everywhere, the bows and the cards, and finally under all of that, a gift that has been long waited for.  It is a truly unique pleasure, as a child, to get a new toy or game.  But as we get older, it changes.  It becomes less about the present that you get and more about the connection that you feel to the person who gave it to you.  The idea that it is not the gift but the thought that counts does not really hold for children, but it becomes more and more true as we get into adulthood.  This is why, sitting here and trying to pick out a 50th birthday gifts for my wife, I am rethinking the approach that I usually take to getting a gift.

A 50th birthday gift marks a momentous occasion in the life of a loved one.  It is always hard to get 50th birthday gifts for someone, but it is doubly hard when that someone is the person that you have chosen to spend your whole life with.  In most cases, people opt to get some kind of corny 50th birthday gifts , something that is safe and humorous.  Most 50th birthday presents that I’ve seen come with a card that has some joke about being “over the hill”.  In every other way, 50th birthday gifts are usually the same as any birthday gift you would get for someone.

But I wanted the 50th birthday present I got for my wife to be something special.  I was not happy just getting her a book, or some jewelry, or some clothing, or a trip to some exotic location.  We do things like that for each other every year.  Sometimes, for a 50th birthday present, people will give a charitable donation to some organization in their honor.  I thought about this, but ultimately I decided against it.  We give, after all, a lot of money to charity.  Finally, I figured out what I wanted to give.  I sat down with all of our old photos and made a scrapbook.  It was not just a normal scrapbook, but one that was made to tell the story of our whole life together.  It took me weeks to finish, but when I was done it was beautiful.  I’m sure it will make a perfect 50th birthday present.

50th Birthday Ideas

“50th Birthday Ideas”

5oth birthday ideas for your 50th birthday. Great 5oth birthday ideas including gifts, party themes, and 50th birthday invitations. Do you know what it feels like to turn fifty? If forty marks the “over-the-hill” point, the 50th birthday has to be a shocker. If you’re just twenty one, someone who is turning fifty may seem as old as Methuselah. You simply can’t imagine being that old.

Unfortunately, for those of us who have actually reached this point, it can be a bittersweet coming of age. Geez, you think, I never thought I could be so old.

You start to look in the mirror, squinting to find a new wrinkle or some saggy skin hiding somewhere. You recently noticed you can’t read the directions and dosage of that allergy medicine without reading glasses! Yikes. What’s the world coming to? When winter comes and cold sets in, you may wake up with stiffness in your hands. These telltale clues only confirm what your subconscious has been nagging you about for some while now. Age is creeping up on you, and everything’s not quite as sharp as it was thirty years ago.

When you were twenty one, life was a long adventure that stretched into forever. Now, twenty nine short years later, with that 50th birthday looming, things look different. Now you’re smart enough to know that your long adventure is getting shorter. This can be a difficult realization. You can’t understand why you never saw this coming, but it’s just the way of life.

In a crisis of this proportion, you need to look on the bright side and regain some of your youthful optimism! Count your blessings if you’ve taken good care of yourself. If you haven’t, then there’s no time like the present to begin corrective measures. Attaining a 50th birthday is an opportunity to make an honest assessment of where you’re at and where you’d like to be a year from now. Analyze your lifestyle, accomplishments and interests and see how you can turn the clock back a bit. Some parts of life just irrevocably creep in, like those darn reading glasses, reminding you that you can’t be twenty one again.

On the other hand, you’ve walked the talk in terms of experience and challenges met. You couldn’t have met those challenges thirty years ago. Your 50th birthday should be a celebration of youthful passion enhanced by marriage, children and perhaps grandchildren, friends or just plain experience in this great mystery of life.

All things considered, a 50th birthday is a milestone of your journey through life. View that glass of lemonade as more than half full and adopt an attitude that looks forward to all life offers.

Remember, it’s likely you have many years before you and more free time to pursue your dreams. Live life with passion and you’ll find continued joy. Fifty isn’t old!

40th Birthday Ideas

“40th Birthday Ideas”

40th Birthday Ideas for celebrating the big 4-0. 40th Birthday Ideas for invitations, parties, and more. I have never been all that inventive with birthday themes and ideas. When it came time to send out my 40th birthday invitations, I had no reason to think things would be any different. I didn’t see anything special about 40th Birthday Ideas. To me, it was just another year. Why should 40 be any different from 39? 39 was not any different than 38. I figured that for my 40th birthday party invitation, I would just send out a plain, boring card. People want coming because of the invitations. They were coming because they wanted to see me.

Then, in the weeks before my birthday party, I had a little bit of a crisis. It seemed like time was passing me by without me even noticing. Every year seemed the same to me. Every birthday party seemed the same to me. Nothing was any different, but I was getting slowly older year by year. I decided that this was when I would stop it. I would have the most sensational 40th Birthday Ideas  that anyone had ever seen. I would come up with an exciting 40th birthday party theme, and see it through to the end.

You may be surprised to hear this given my attitude towards celebrations, but I am a graphic designer. I love art and design of any kind, but I seldom apply it to my own life. This year, however, it would be different. My 40th birthday invitations were bright, colorful, and exciting. The theme was not the past but the future. I have always been a big science fiction fan, so in my 40th birthday invitations, I invited everyone to a sci-fi movie night. The theme was “the party of the future”. I admit that the 40th birthday invitations were a little bit cheesy, but they were pretty cool as well.

It turns out that my 40th birthday party went off without a hitch. I admit that some of my friends were just humoring me, but others were sincerely excited about it. My fellow sci-fi geeks, in particular, loved the 40th birthday invitations. One of them even kept his to put up on the mantelpiece. We drank whiskey and soda pop, and ate cheese puffs all night while watching the War of the Worlds, the Dawn of the Dead, and other science fiction and horror classics. It certainly was a night to remember!

Birthday Party Ideas

“Birthday Party Ideas”

Birthday Party Ideas to celebrate your birthday. Basic birthday party ideas for having the perfect party for almost age for children, teens, and adults. I have two children so twice a year I find myself wondering how I am going to manage to come up with yet more .I remember when I was a kid, my parents made a cake, threw some balloons out into the middle of the room, played some music on the 8-track and presto – we had a party. As with anything else, birthday parties have evolved so much that they are almost like a competition to see who can throw the coolest party.

Sometimes the best way to come up with original Birthday Party Ideas is to simply think back to the birthday parties you and your friends had when you were children. Children often have just as much fun at a simple birthday party with old fashioned party games. One of my favorite party games when I was young was the balloon game where everyone tied a balloon around each ankle and ran in a circle and tried to pop the balloons of the person in front of them. I played this game at one of my daughter’s parties when she was six and every child in the room wanted to play it again and again.

If you have a specific theme in mind, you can find kids themed birthday supplies like banners, plates, cups, and cake decorations to match. You can find different accessories to make your child’s birthday party visually appealing. If you don’t have a theme yet, you’ll find some around this site. You can even find some birthday parties for teens and adults as well.

Keeping the children busy is one of the most important aspects of hosting a birthday party so having age appropriate activities is vital. It is important to consider the difficulty of the game, what is needed, and how long the game will last as some games are meant for an older crowd and some for a younger crowd.

Finally if you don’t want to host the birthday party in your own home, there are many ideas for birthday parties that are held at children’s venues. Many recreational centers offer game and party rooms for birthday parties. This relieves you from the hassle of having to clean up after the party. There are many places that offer combination packages that include food, party room, and activities for one price. Using a combination package makes everything so much simpler for you but it will likely cost you more than a home party.

Whatever option you choose, there are many ideas for birthday parties that can make your life simpler. Even if you do choose to join the birthday party competition, you can still make it enjoyable for your child and his or her friends.
